Youth Talent Contest Format
1, The Indiana State Fair Youth Talent contest consists of two divisions:
Junior Division (Ages 12 or less of age)
Senior Division (Ages 13 through 21), if you are 13 years of age anytime during the 2011 you must enter the Senior Division.
Each act will be assigned to the appropriate division at their county contest and at the Indiana State Fair based on the contestant’s age.
2. Group acts must compete in the division determined by the ages of the majority of the group. No one older than 14 may compete in the Junior Division.
3.The highest-placing eligible act in the Junior and Senior Division will represent Noble County at the Indiana State Fair. Every contestant in the Youth Talent Contest MUST BE AN INDIANA RESIDENT.
4.All acts in the Indiana State Fair Youth Talent contest must first compete in and win their County Fair Talent Contest.
5.Solo Acts must be Noble County Residents. Group acts must have a majority of the contestants be Noble County residents.
6.The Youth Talent Contests open to non-professionals only. "Professional" is defined as anyone who is a union member, who has a professional manager, or whose principle and/or self-supporting income is derived from performing.
7.The Contest Coordinators reserve the right to assign acts to what they determine to be the proper categories. Any questions shall be resolved by the Contest Coordinators and their decision is FINAL.
8. Each division will be limited to 10 entries per category.
9.A contestant may enter in more than one category of competition at the Noble County Youth Talent Contest. If contestant wins in more than one category they must decide at time of contest which category they will compete in at the State Fair. Second place winners will be allowed if the 1st place is forfeited on the county level. Written Notification must be received from the County Coordinator.
10. A contestant may enter only one category of competition at the Indiana State Fair Youth Talent Contest. Indiana State Fair Youth Talent contest Entry Forms will be provided to eligible winner of county talent contest by Contest Coordinator.
11. Entries will be accepted in the following 13 categories for both the Junior Division and the Senior Division:
1. Vocal Solo - Female
2. Vocal Solo - Male
3.Vocal Group
4. Instrumental Solo
5. Instrumental Group
6.Dance Solo
7. Dance Group
8.Novelty Solo
9. Novelty Group
10.Tumbling Solo (free X only)
11. Tumbling Group (free X only)
12. Clogging Solo
13. Clogging Group
All winners will receive awards/certificates at the end of the competition.
